Pelesky Stephen, 93, of Ebensburg, passed away on June 11, 2017 at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Born on December 4, 1923, in Jenners to John and Pauline (Radowski) Pelesky. Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Nick, John, Mike, and Frank and sisters Ann, Helen and Pauline. Survived by wife of 65 years Pauline (Vidischak), daughters Gail Maatman and Jana (Vincent) Brisini, grandchildren Travis (Kellie) Brisini, Ryan (Allison) Brisini and Emma Maatman, great grandson Linus Brisini and sister Verdine Frederick of Vienna, VA. A graduate of Boswell High School. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and served in the Pacific Theater and survived a kamikaze attack in December 1944 in Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. He entered the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1947. He retired in 1973 at the rank of Sergeant. He then worked in the Industrial Relations Department of Bethlehem Mines retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Marys Orthodox Church in Jenners where he served as the President of the congregation. He was skilled at construction and mechanical repairs. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his bountiful vegetable and flower gardens. By Steves request there will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be at Holy Name Mausoleum in Ebensburg.
