93, of Ebensburg, passed away March 7, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 29, 1924 in Colver, daughter of the late James H. and Margaret (Mitchell) Smith. Preceded in death by husband, James T. Lankford; brothers James J. Smith and Robert D. Smith; and sister Hazel McKotch. Survived by children, Donna Fulton, Salisbury, North Carolina; Jeanne (Daniel) Croyle, Gray Court, South Carolina; Barbara (Daniel) Goughnour, Dallastown; James R. (Lynda) Lankford, Portage, Indiana; and Kathy Lankford, Ebensburg. 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Lorraine "Pat" Cox, Harrisonburg, Virginia; Kathryn (Sam) Folley, Willsport, Maryland; and sisters in law, Patty Smith, Martinsburg; and Pauline Smith, Ebensburg. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Thelma enjoyed sewing, reading, painting, crocheting, yard sales and camping. She worked for six years for a bank in Washington, DC, was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile; and also was a volunteer at the Ebensburg Center. A special thank you to Palliative Care of Conemaugh Health System for their supportive care. Friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m., Saturday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
