Virginia A. Partsch


(Barzensky), 94, Windber, passed away peacefully, May 14, 2019 surrounded by family and caregivers at Windber Hospice. Virginia was one of twelve children, being born June 19, 1924 in Windber, the daughter of Michael and Hedwig (Szuberla) Barzensky and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 57 years, Victor W. Partsch, who passed in 2014; brothers, John, Joseph, Stanley, Walter, Mike, Philip and Charles William; sisters, Catherine Tuomisto, Genevieve Yope, Betty Bray and Helen Shattuck. Survived by daughter, Barbara; son, Victor and wife, Suzanne (Hostetler), both of Windber and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired employee Windber Area School District and member of the Windber VFW Auxiliary. She traveled extensively with family to Canada, Hawaii, the beach, taking cruises and also toured Europe as part of a Franciscan church group. Virginia along with daughter Barb, would always travel to many destinations. These trips she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a volunteer at Windber Hospice and Windber Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed being outdoors tending to her plants, trimming the grass, and pulling weeds. Her other interests included bingo, trips to the casino, reading and crocheting. She was a homemaker known for her German chocolate cake. Member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber where she was a member of the church choir, Rosary Society, Franciscan Third Order and where she spent countless hours as a member of the church kitchen crew. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or visitation, however, family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of her Life Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Reverend Lawrence Lacovic, Celebrant. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber. Arrangements by the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Windber Hospice and to her caregivers for their compassion and support. "I will not leave you comfortless": I will come to you. (John14:18). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be made in Virginia's memory to charities of her choice.
