90, Loretto, died September 23, 2017. Born July 26, 1927 in Sankertown, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Laura (Noel) Hines. Preceded in death by infant brother, Joseph Jr., and these brothers and sisters: Edward, Anna Marie Campbell, Paul, Doris Moreland, James, Elizabeth Eplett and Janet Learn. Survived by wife of 65 years, the former Rosetta Trexler whom he married July 16, 1952 in Loretto. Children: Joe (Carol Sherry) of Ebensburg, Cindy (Ron) Segada of Lilly, Joyce Weise (Harvey Caldwell) of Virginia Beach, Jeffrey (Brenda Shaffer) of Loretto and Anita (Wayne) Harrington of Loretto. 11 grandchildren: Sherry (Chad), Doug (Marie), Brian, Keri (Mike), Mark, Rachel (Eric), Michael, Gordon, Alex, Shawn, and Matthew, 9 great grandchildren and a great grandson on the way. Last member of his immediate family. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Cresson Feed Mill as part owner in 1974 after 30 years, and worked for Cooney Brothers Coal as a parts manager for several years and retired in 1992. Life member and founding father of Loretto Volunteer Fire Company, member of the Loretto American Legion and the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Committal Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Loretto Volunteer Fire Company of the Basilica of St. Michael in Bills memory.www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com
