A Full Measure Man -
Charles "Charlie" Ray Dull, 76, of Mechanicsburg, peacefully graduated from life to eternal life as he held hands with his beloved wife on June 11, 2017. Charlie was born on December 8, 1940 in Windber, PA to the late Howard William and Elsie Romaine (Knavel) Dull.
Charlie's survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Emily "Janie" Jane (Emerick) Dull; his three children: Kim Snowden and her husband, Joe, of Mechanicsburg, Jen Hundertmark and her husband, Glenn, of Butler, Greg Dull and his wife, Terri, of Florida; his seven grandchildren: Nathan, Adam, Emma, Anna, Becca, Caleb, Gracie; his two bonus grandchildren: Jordan, Aydan; his great-grandson, Everett; his brother, Dr. Edwin Dull and his wife, Maggie, of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlie graduated from Shade Central City High School in 1958. He attended Penn State University for his undergraduate and graduate degrees and in 1965 Charlie graduated a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics. He retired as director of member benefits from Pennsylvania Farm Bureau in 2004 after 28 years. Charlie returned to the Bureau to continue his service as a part-time sales consultant and worked for Asgrow Seed Company as a regional manager for 14 years. Charlie was a long-time and active member of Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren where he served in various leadership roles. His faith and church activity was an important and rich part of Charlie's life.
Charlie served as ombudsman for Area Agency on Aging and a golf outing volunteer for the Mechanicsburg Museum Association. Charlie lived to golf and he looked forward to the time he spent with his golf buddies. He enjoyed the relaxation and competition of golfing so much that he spent every Monday and Thursday at either Range End Golf Club or Mayapple Golf Course. Most importantly, Charlie was extremely proud of his family and he found great joy in spending time with them. All of his family, friends, and golf buddies will miss him dearly.
Join Charlie's family at his viewing on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 and on Saturday from 10:15 to 11:15 with service at 11:30 at Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren, 301 Gale St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. A time of food and fellowship will be held immediately following the service. Cremation and interment will be private.
