Delores A. "Dee," 76, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord July 14, 2017. Born November 8, 1940, in Savannah GA., daughter of Henry Glover Sr. and Irene (Wright). Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Freddie Mae Johnson; brothers, David, Henry and Hardy Glover. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, the Rev. Julius C. Porcher Jr.; daughter, Lori A. Porcher; sons, David C. Porcher, married to Donna of Pittsburgh; and Lamar Porcher; and godson, Michael James; grandchildren, David C. Porcher (Laraya), Jerrin E. Porcher, Jakenyia Fells and Antoine Freeland; and seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Gordon, Verna Porcher Carter and Carol Glover; brother-in-law, James Porcher (Gloria); and dear cousins, Janie, Flo, Esther Marie, Marsha, Walter Lee and Betty Cleever Dee was a 1958 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and 1969 graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business College. She was employed at Cambria County Community Action as office manager for 38 years. She served on the board of trustees at Memorial Medical Center for 25 years, also holding the position as secretary. Delores was a dedicated member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church for 58 years. She served as Sunday school teacher and superintendent, deaconess, usher and choir member. Delores was a life member of the NAACP serving on the executive board and as a vice president. She served as the creator and chairman of the first NAACP Martin Luther King Freedom Fund banquet. Dee also served on numerous city and county boards and was honored in 1999 for her nonprofit contributions by the YMCA. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and touched the lives of so many. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday July 18, 2017, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Dr. Ralph E. Johnson.
