Elizabeth's Story

87, of Johnstown, went home to be with our Lord July 3, 2017. Born February 2, 1930, daughter of Cromwell and Lettie Pollard. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 55 years, Robert, Sr.; son, Calvin and stepmother, Ozzie (King) Pollard; her brother, Cromwell Pollard, Jr. and sisters, Ruth Borders and Shirley Bennett. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by her children, Robert Jr. (Blondell), SC; Maxine Andrews; Bert Brown (Jeff); daughter-in-law, Brenda Andrews and Godsister, Rev. Sylvia King. 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her dear friends Mrs. Mildred Jones, Sharon Kowalski, Laura Andrews, Lillie Ellis, Pat Walker, Vickie Morris, Kim Bennett and Karen (Carter) Brandon and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and "adopted" sons, daughters and grandchildren. "Mrs. Liz" was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served in many ways including as President of the Kitchen Club for over 25 years. She was an avid bingo player and bowler and she loved to play PA lottery scratch off tickets and dancing to Blurred Lines. "Mrs. Liz" had a gift of wisdom for everyone. She was a very wise woman and she will be missed. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at Conemaugh Memorial hospital (7 Rose), the ER staff Med Van, Cam Tram and others who took time to make her feel special. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 205 Peelor St., Prospect where her Homegoing Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev.
