Emiley's Story

Text size

11, of Prince William County received her angel wings on Monday, June 19, 2017 following a life long battle with illness. Emiley's life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her beautiful smile understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Emiley leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Her love extends to her wonderful nurses Kadiatu, Courtney, Sun, Gina and Trinicia. There is a special place in our hearts for Emiley's doctors and their staff, Dr. Angela Odom-Austin, Dr. Nancy Goeden, and Dr. Svindor Toor. Additionally, those wearing the Air Force uniform that supported our family over the years, words cannot express how thankful we are for all you. Emiley's passing will remind others that life should be celebrated. She will forever remain in our hearts and we are so grateful for the wonderful memories that we have. We are honored she chose us to be her parents. Emiley is survived by her parents, Chad and Lisa Reesey; half-sister Alysabeth Kohan; paternal grandfather Terry Reesey; aunts and uncles Charlie and Tyra Cox, Jason and Sonia Maxey, Phillip and Shanna Kapelewski and Josh and Holly Reesey. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Barry and Brenda Stanley. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 23 at Quantico Marine Corps Base Chapel. Burial will be at noon Saturday, June 24 at Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke, Va.Online guestbook at covenantfuneralservice.com.
