,88, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at his residence. He was born and raised in Geistown Borough, near Johnstown, son of the late George and Arzella (Costlow) Rubritz.
Jacob was the beloved husband of Helen T. (Sczecienski) Rubritz for 66 years. Father of Thomas (Bridget) of DuBois, Timothy (Carol) of Mars, Terry (Susan) of West Chester, Jane Ann (Daniel) Verner of Rockville, MD and Gerald (Kelly) of Hollidaysburg. Jacob was Grandpa Moe to 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren: Brooke Tarcson, Thomas Jr., Kathleen Matczynski, Paul, Jennifer, James Jacob, Sarah Verner, Dana Cooper, Kate Verner and Andrew; and Great-Grandpa to Isabel, Emma, Juliana and Lily Tarcson, Teresa and Anna Matczynski; Adam, Charlotte and Maxwell. Also survived by brother Richard of Dover, PA and cousin Sister Anthony (Genevieve) Costlow CSJ of Baden. Jacob was also preceded in death by siblings: Thomas, Eugenia Lewis, Mary Rita Daley, Franklin (Fuzzy of Dover, DE) and infants George, Jr., Francis and Raphael.
He was a 1947 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. Moe was service manager and auto technician in Johnstown for 24 years at the former Hallman Chevrolet before becoming a Tupperware Distributor together with his wife Helen at Ja-Len Distributors in Cresson, PA for 16 years. He spent the past 30 years in retirement primarily in Kissimmee, Florida volunteering at Give the Kids the World Village and greeting Wish families at the Orlando airport. He traveled the country in his motor homes and visited his children and grandchildren regularly serving as the fix-it repairman.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg, PA where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Fr. Anthony J. Legarski.
