87, of Carrolltown, passed away September 5, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 31, 1929 in Spangler the son of the late Stanley and Victoria (Slavisky) Bogus. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Edward, and Stanley Bogus, and sisters, Helen Quinn, Florence Minarish. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosalie (Patkalitsky) Bogus, and children James (Mary Jo Stasko) Bogus, Debbie (Edwin) Hoover, Sharon (Dick) Clark, Robert (Laura Leehan) Bogus, Rose (Jeff) Koss and Linda (Frank) Stossel; grandchildren Jim (fiancé Chrissy), Sabrina, and Ty (fiancé Kelsi) Bogus. Chad (Carrie), Matt, David (Lyda), and Sara Hoover. Jamie (Will) Hoffman and Richard (fiancé Crystal) Houseman. Leah (Roman) Bender, Cody and Layne Bogus. Lynsey (Joe Woo ) and Danielle (Joe Polites) Bodek. Shane and Taylor Stossel; great grandchildren, Grayson, Mackenzie, Kamryn, Quinzel, Liam, Miles, and step grandchildren Blaine, Samantha, Serena, Jace and Summer; sisters, Mary Miller, and Bernice Terrizzi and one brother, Bernard Bogus. James is a member of St. Benedict Church. He was founder and owner of Bogus and Son Farms for 60 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved all Pittsburgh sports teams. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at Stevens Funeral Homes, Inc. 146 North Main Street, Carrolltown where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be held from 9 am until the 10 am Funeral Mass on Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Benedictine Fathers. Committal church cemetery. The family would like to thank Resta Home Health for the help of their compassionate and supportive staff during our time of need.
