Laurie C. "Chrissy" Gergely, Ebensburg. Age 54. Went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at home after a short battle with lung cancer on Aug. 28, 2017. Born Feb. 19, 1963 in Colver. Daughter of John J. and Olive J. (Pilgrim) Malloy Jr. Preceded in death by parents, brother John 3rd and sister Sharon Boothby. Survived by husband Michael A. Gergely Sr. whom she married Mar.1, 1980. Children Michael Jr. ( Jiill ); and Kelly ( Jesse ) Colangelo. Three grandchildren Adam Gergley and Meghan and Isaac Colangelo. Sister of Diane ( Gary ) Boring; Patricia ( Richard ) Saylor; Kevin ( Joanne ) Malloy; Keith ( Bonnie ) Malloy; Dale ( Debra ) Malloy; Michael ( Mary ) Malloy; Lynda ( Steve ) Claar; Vicki ( Donald ) Strayer; also brother in kaw Richard Boothby and sister in law Frances Malloy also numerous nieces and nephews. Chrissy was the best wife, mother anyone could ask for, she loved her husband, kids, grandkids and much love for her animals. She loved her Lord unconditionally and always put her trust in him. Her faith never wavered during her battle with cancer. She always so selfless and concerned about everyone else and their relationship with the Lord. Five years ago she started a ministry "Footprints in the sand". Her mission was to serve the Lord, help people in need and teach them salvation and she did that and so much more. She will certainly be missed by many and look forward to seeing her again. The family would like to thank the staff at Allegheny Home Health for there hard work and support, also to all those who contributed to helping the Gergely family throughout Chrissy's battle with cancer. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Matevish and Matevish funeral Home, Ebensburg. Funeral services Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cross Road Alliance Church, Ebensburg, Pastor Kevin Stock. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family in Chrissy's memory.
