Mary's Story

96, St. Benedict passed away April 18, 2017 at St. Benedict Manor. She was born August 7, 1920 in St. Boniface, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (Kruise) Becker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles P. Callahan; brothers William and Paul and sister Heldia Dietrick. She is survived by children Nancy (Donald) Price, Patton; Clair (Cindy) Callahan, Patton; Joann Mooney, State College; Patricia (James) Milosavich, Vienna, VA; David (Debbie) Callahan, Raeford, NC; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers Clarence Becker, Altoona; Walter Becker, Dysart; Ralph (Irene) Becker, Summerhill and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Patton High School. Mary sold World Book Encyclopedia's and retired as an Avon representative after 25 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for many years and the I.C.B.U. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 North Fifth Avenue Patton, PA 16668, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton by Benedictine Fathers. Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery.
