Mary's Story

"MJ", 60, Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on December 27, 1956 in Johnstown, daughter of the late John C. McClafferty Jr. and Patricia A. (Boyer) McClafferty, Stonycreek Township. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Makin Jr. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving son, James Molnar Jr., and his fiancee, Katie Ruckert, both of Pittsburgh; siblings, Patricia A, McClafferty, Stonycreek Township; John C III, married to the former Leslie Peoples, Berryville, VA; Michael P., Windber; Colleen M. Glass, Murrieta, CA; Dennis L., Windber; and Jennifer, wife of John W. Layton Jr., Rapid City, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Justine, Danica, and Jordan, and Danielle, Katie, John, Destiny, Crystal, and Amber. Also, survived by stepchildren, Norman J. III, Roxbury; Stacy R. Cleary, FL; and Terri D., wife of Jarred Hipp, Geistown Borough; several step great-grandchildren; as well as her special feline companion, Yoyo. Mary Jane was a 1975 graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech. She was employed at the former Gee Bee's Department Store in Johnstown. Mary Jane was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Mary Jane was a Pack Leader of the former Cub Scout Pack #100. She enjoyed shopping, crafts and game night with her family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Private committal will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Mary Jane.
