Michael Duane Whitfield, beloved son of Lynda Wendy Whitfield-Wilson and Deacon Jeffrey Wilson, entered into eternal life at age 33, on May 13, 2017 at Johnstown Memorial Medical Center. Michael was born June 11, 1983 in Indiana, PA. He was baptized at an early age at Second Baptist Church in Blairsville, PA, and was an active member of the Baptist Youth Fellowship and church choir at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Johnstown PA. He also played youth baseball, football, and basketball. In 2001 Michael graduated from Greater Johnstown High School, and went on to work at Little Lamb Daycare, Growing Years Early Learning Center, and Zekes Pizza. Michael had distinct talents in spoken word and rap, and was also an artist. He collaborated with many local area rappers, including his cousin Trevor Mangum, and also had the chance to work with national recording artists. Michael leaves his loving parents Deacon Jeffrey and Lynda Wendy Wilson, children, Nyla Nicole Robine (mother Regina Robine) and Emani Michael Whitfield (mother Janelle Moravecz), his brother and best friend, Douglas Whitfield, siblings Tommy Graves, Anthony Kinney, Kenneth Kinney Jr., Ashley Foster, and Phillip Pollard, grandfather, Robert Kinney, his special friend Trinity Crusan, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded by his father Kenneth Kinney, grandparents, Aleen and Arthur Whitfield, Charlene Wilson, and Oliser Kinney, uncle, Lamont Kinney, and aunt, Sonceree Kinney. Michael loved his parents, children, brother, and family very much. He will be remembered as young man that was always willing to help others. He had the most beautiful eyes and an infectious smile. We love you son, with all our hearts. Viewing will be on Thursday May 18 from 5 to 8pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday May 19 at 11 am at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (205 Peelor Street Johnstown, PA 15901), with interment at Grandview Cemetery.
