94, of Johnstown died March 17, 2017, at her home. Born January 8, 1923, in Johnstown the daughter of John and Agnes (Musial) Stavas. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John "Don" Kristoff; and brothers and sisters, Mary Stavas; Walterine "Lee" Callen; Sophie Gruca; Caroline Rodkey; Joseph Stawash; Ted "Cheer" Stavas; Stanley Stavas; Frank Stavas; Ed Stavas; and infant siblings: Walter, Henry, Veronica, and others. Although she had borne no children, she was a mother to many. She is survived by nieces: Joyce Gruca Antonio and her children Bruno, Gabriel, Roman, Anastasia, and Amanda Celeste Antonio Potts, Yorktown, VA; Colleen Stavas Rychak and her children, Joshua and Charity, Oldsmar, FL; nephews: Richard David Callen, Kingsport, GA; John Rodkey and his children: Ann, Rose, and June, Bowie, MD; Myles Stavas, Johnstown; and Elaine (Kristoff) and George Kutchma, Johnstown; and family friend, Randy Maurer. Randy, Elaine, and George lovingly took care of her daily needs to the end. A lifetime member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and currently a member of Resurrection Parish. She graduated St. Casimir's Grade School in 1938 and went to work to help support her large family. She worked at Mercy Hospital serving food, in sales at Swank's Hardware, Sears, Fort Stanwix Hotel, Polski Dom and KMP Club, Glenn L. Martin where she riveted the wings of airplanes because she was so small, Cay Artley from 1954-1975 when they closed, Goodwill Industries, was a mixologist at the Cambria County Airport winning awards for cocktails that she created, and up until a few years ago would do alterations for people. She was a beautiful woman inside and out who always took care of her family. She was always taking care of those members of the family that needed her help and would hire local children to help her do yard work and spring cleaning inspiring good work ethics. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to concerts in Pittsburgh and would take her family to the Johnstown Symphony at Cochran Auditorium. She beautifully made her own clothing. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad St. where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish, Fr. George Gulash officiating. Committal service will be held at St. Casimir Cemetery.
