Alvin James Hritz Obituary

Alvin James Hritz, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2025. He passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Orlando, Florida.


He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1961. He gave the United States Air Force 9 ½ years of service and was honorably discharged in 1968. He retired from Harper Mechanical where he worked as a field supervisor in the sheet metal department and later an estimator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing.


He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine Urbassic and George Hritz and his siblings; Margaret, Thomas, Anna, George, Pauline, Gertrude, Emma, Katherine, Sophie, Caroline, Dorothy, Walter, and Phyllis.


He is survived by his spouse, Maria (Santoyo) Hritz of 63 years of marriage, his daughters Melanie R. Hritz and Nicole M. Corbin, her spouse Christopher Corbin, two grandchildren, James M. Hope and John C. Corbin, and siblings, Mildred and Richard.


Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at American Legion-Post 242, 17142 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32833 on Sunday March 30th at 2pm. He will be laid to rest at Oak Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
