Alvin Rouzer Obituary
Jackson Twp., Pa - Rouzer - Alvin "Craig," 75, of Jackson Township, died December 30, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his family. Craig was born April 13, 1950, in Johnstown, son of the late Alvin H. Rouzer and Marion F. (Rickabaugh) Rouzer. Craig was a graduate of Central Cambria High School, Class of 1968. He served in the Army National Guard from 1969-1975. He retired as a project manager from JFW Industries after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Greater Jackson Sportsmen's Club, Nanty Glo Moose Lodge 207, and Singer Hill Grace Brethren Church. Craig was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting trips out West with his best friend, Jim "Gator" McCloskey. During his lifetime, Craig became quite the trapshooter and game hunter. Plaques hanging in various sportsmen's clubhouses record his top-place finishes and attest to his shooting skill. Craig competed in the Mountain Top League. During competitions, he shot between his daughters, Darcy and Darla, who'd followed in their father's trapshooting footsteps. Craig was a proud dad when it came to his girls' shooting! Everyone who knew Craig loved him. Craig was so proud of his girls, who unanimously voted him "Best Girl Dad Ever!" - and that's a quote! In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Craig enjoyed time with his canine companion, Daisy. The past few years, Craig took pleasure in sitting on his front porch with friends, telling stories, and breathing in the fresh air. Craig is survived by his wife, Hannah (Hartman) Rouzer; daughters, Darcy (Jeff) Dishong, Darla (Greg) Costlow, Dana (Tim) Rodkey, and Diane (Lynn) Bashaw; and son, Scott (Pam) Esgro. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; sister, Connie (Mike) Risko; brother, Barry Rouzer; and numerous nieces; brother-in-law, Russell Hartman; sisters-in-law, Joan (Joe) Kopsic, Marg Ellis and Theresa (Carl) Settle. In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Kathy Rouzer, and brothers-in-law, Raymond, Jim and Lenny Hartman; and sisters-in-law, Twila Moss and Nancy Robertson. The family would like to thank all the staff on the 10th floor - Palliative Care and especially RN - Aaliyah. The staff on the ninth floor and especially RN - Marianna and CNA - Amy.
