Cresson, PA - 95, formerly of Gallitzin died July 14, 2023, at Just Like Home, Cresson. Born May 31, 1928, in Marion Center the son of the late Michael and Helen (Demchak) Mandichak. Preceded in death by his wife the former Pauline Pavlock on January 19, 2019, brothers, Mike, George, John, Joe, Paul and sisters Ann Dardan, Mary Zachesky and Helen Grunza. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew (Kim) and Michael (Mid), grandchildren Wendy (Jerald) Eteuini, Amy (Jim) Weston, Brad (Jill) and Marc, great-grandchildren, Alison, Tyler, Payton, Braeden, Tenley, Tatum, Mason, and Maddox, also a brother Thomas (Helen) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Andy retired in 1983 from US Steel as a foreman of the lower shop.US Veteran of the United States Coast Guard-Merchant Marines during WW II. Member of Gallitzin American Legion, Ashville VFW, Gallitzin Sportsmen's and Jamestown Rod and Gun Club. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and going to his camp in Potter County. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday the Rev. Brian Saylor and Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrants. Committal St. Mary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 pm Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Monday.
