90, of Windber, went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2024. Born October 4, 1933, son of the late Anthony and Nellie (Lippin) Debias. Preceded in death by loving wife of 64 years, Kathleen "Kay" (Simmers) Debias; son, Randall Debias; brothers, Nick, Stanley, John and George; and sisters, Dorothy, Mary and Rose. Survived by sons, Paul (Sonia) and James Debias; daughter, Debora (Jon) Bango; daughter-in-law, Margie Debias; grandchildren, Tony Debias, Angie (Heath) Hyder, Jeremy Debias, Jill (DJ) Helman, Nikolas Bango, Katie (Mike) Stossel and Brooke Bango; great-grandchildren, Luke, Lola, Ayden, Bentley, Carson, Kinsley and Kamdyn; brother, Robert; and sisters, Gloria, Evelyn and Judy. Barney was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. His quick wit and charm could easily brighten anyone's day. He had a love for gardening and found great pride in providing for his family. He was also a proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Army and then went on to retire from U.S. Steel. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Simple Alternatives Inc., 717 Main St., Windber, PA 15963. A short visitation will be held at Simple Alternatives on Saturday, August 31, from 9 a.m. until the time of procession to Richland Cemetery at 10 a.m., 1257 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, PA 15904. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Crossroads staff of Arbutus Park Manor for the exceptional love and care Barney received.
