I was saddened to read that Barbara passed away in the Historical Newsletter. She was a great art teacher and wonderful lady. She was so instrumental in establishing Portages’s art enrichment classes and beautiful paintings of Portage’s unique landmarks, as well as its rich history as evidenced in Portrait of a Town and other works.. She will be sorely missed. Condolences to her family especially to my old friend, her niece Betty.

Robbie, Bill and Mimi, I am so sorry for your loss. You mother was a lovely person. I have clear memories of her sitting in the meadow across from my house and painting the sunset. She brought many people joy in Portage. Deepest condolences, Lisa Nezneski

Barbara was one of the loveliest human beings I ever knew. Her gentle and loving nature is evident in all her beautiful paintings, reflections of all she was as a person. My saddest condolences to her family and friends. Always in memory.

Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. We are blessed to have a painting Barbie did of the first school house in Clearfield County hanging in our home. She will always be remembered for her welcoming smile . She was truly an example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

I was truly blessed and fortunate to be a part of Barb’s life these past 4 years. She was one of a kind. She lived her life with grace and dignity and that is reflected on her wonderful family. She will hold a special place in my heart and will be greatly missed. Be our guardian angel Barbie and watch over us.

I will never forget Barbara. I was fortunate enough to live close to her and spend my childhood at the farm. I still have such wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. I also had the wonderful opportunity to take art lessons from Barbara in which I still have the prints. What a wonderful family to have as neighbors. I will miss her and wish her love and peace.
