84, West End, passed away on March 9, 2025. Born October 2, 1940, in Johnstown, son of Carolyn (Moschgat) and Edwin Harrington. Preceded in death by loving wife of 63 years, Antoinette "Toni" Harrington (Mikula); brother, Edwin "Buddy" Harrington; sister, Nancy Urban (Harrington); and parents. Survived by daughters: Susan Yingling and husband, Ken; Kathy Moran and husband, Lance; grandchildren: Shannon Yingling, Kara Handley (Conor), Kelsi Tafaro (Andrew), Leah Yingling (Mike), Brady Moran (Lindsey), Connor Moran (Jenn), Ryan Moran (Cassie), and Brennen Moran; great-grandchildren, Westin, River, Casey, Alina, Rory, and Seamus; sisters-in-law, Marlys Harrington and Cindy Houghton (Kevin); brothers-in-law, Francis Urban and Fred Mikula (Janice); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Barry was a 1958 graduate of Johnstown High School and dedicated 33 years to the United States Postal Service (USPS) as a mailman, a career he took great pride in and one that provided lifelong friendships and memories. He received numerous awards and honors during his USPS tenure, including The USPS Million Mile Award, which recognizes drivers who have driven one million miles without an accident. He was a dedicated father and Pappy - sharing his passion for fishing and camping, attending every sporting event, and spreading Christmas joy each year to all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A true life of the party, Barry was quick-witted and always ready to share his favorite joke with those he encountered. Nothing brought him more joy than making people laugh. He was a passionate Irishman and Pittsburgh sports fan, never missing a St. Patrick's Day celebration or a Pirates or Steelers game. We take comfort knowing he will be reunited with his loving wife and life partner, Toni, and their shih-tzu, Molly, who always held a special place in his heart. A viewing will be held Thursday, March 13, at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Very Rev. Matthew B. Baum and Rev. Francis P. Balestino. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In memory of Barry and in lieu of flowers, please make a toast to him this St. Patrick's Day.
