Latrobe, PA - NOVOTNY - Barry A., 81, of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was born March 27, 1945, in Portage, PA, a son of the late Albert J. and Emma L. (Fredo) Novotny. He was the loving husband of Gail M. (Rabatin), whom he married on Nov. 23, 1968. He is also survived by his children, Barry, married to Kelly (Adams); Blaise; Galen, married to Brandy (Williamson); and Nathan, married to Keli (Griscomb); his grandchildren, Abigail Carr (Cameron), Ainsley, Trevor, Tessa, Jackson; Lillie and Benjamin; stepgranddaughters, Sophie and Abbie; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Avery and Atlas. He is also survived by his sisters, Patti Lynn Deppen (James) and Linda L. Mastaler (Anthony); a sister-in-law, Carol Fetchgan; a brother-in-law, Hezekiah Phillips; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Allen, and his sister, Jerry Lynn Phillips. Barry earned degrees in industrial relations, business management and education. He was a human resources professional for 42 years, and worked in the underground mining industry, the rail road car manufacturing industry, and the metal cutting and tooling industry. He retired from Kennametal Inc. on Dec. 31, 2010, where he last held the position of director, global labor relations and corporate governance. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home Inc.,1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe. Entombment will follow in the Mary Mother of Mercy Mausoleum at St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Masses at St. Vincent Basilica.
