Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - TICKERHOOF - Rev. Bernard "Bernie" Francis, TOR, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, was called home to the Lord on May 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Johnstown, PA, Father Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, David and Magdalen Ann (Ruth) Henry. He is survived by his brother, Father David Tickerhoof, TOR; sister, Ruthayn Tickerhoof; brother, Gerald Tickerhoof; friends; and his Franciscan community. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Francis Friary at Mount Assisi in Loretto, PA. A vigil prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at St. Francis Friary with the Very Rev. Joseph Lehman, TOR, as principal celebrant. After the Mass, interment will take place at the Franciscan Friars' Cemetery on the campus of St. Francis University, Loretto.
