Bertha M. Hill
90, of Johnstown passed away September 15, 2019. Born February 3, 1929 daughter of John and Anna Lee (Bronson) Mickens. Preceded in death by parents, husband Leo Hill, sister Mazie Givens, daughters Gayle Lovell McCall, Georgia Toney and Margaret Whitfield and sons Kelvin Lee and Edward Hill. Survived by daughters Gladys S. Hill and Ann Mention and brother John H. Mickens "Bobby". Devoted niece Anita Mitchell (Luther) and 2 special great-nieces Amber Mitchell-Dawsey (Dr. Jason) and Alexandra Mitchell "Ally Gal". Lifelong friends Ida B. Ellis, Rev. Theodore and Linda Tisinger and their wonderful loving family. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and five grandchildren she raised as her own Kelvin L. Jr., Frealynn J., Avery L., Sharron and DePriest and many family and friends. Faithful member of Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church until her health would no longer allow her to attend. "Bert" retired as the elevator operator at Penn Furniture. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church and are invited to attend her Homegoing Service at 11 A.M. Saturday at Shiloh, the Rev. Theodore Tisinger and Rev. Maurice Williams officiating, Committal Grandview Cemetery. Moskal-Reid Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Mother Bert: she was a one of a Kind ! A Great KERNVILLE Mother. She was A great Church Mother as well. She & My Mother put the ROSEBUDS CHIOR TOGETHER ! Kept it going for (30) plus yrs ! Faithful to a fault for JESUS ~ Christ ! She did her part & God is going to Bless her in Heaven Now & Catch up with the fellow Saints that already went before . Oh, the Beauty of going through the Gates of Heaven & taking your right place in the Kingdom! What Blessing to know mother Bert. I used to love to go to PENN FURNITURE & go on a Elevator Ride & MRS. Bert, drove it like a street car ! Great ride : very kind & Always Courteous! Super Mom & a Giant ❤️! Benny & Family Memories!
