Noel, Betty L., 98, Altoona, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. Born November 15, 1924, Windber, daughter of the Samuel W. and Mary I. (Zeiter) Dixon. Preceded in death by her husband, Regis J. Noel, whom she married on February 19, 1944 in Cresson; daughter, Shirley A. Williams; brothers, Samuel, James, Frank and John Dixon; and sisters, Mable Gima, Nora Mae Charles, Ruby "June" Davis, Margaretta and Marlyn Dixon. Survived by her children, James R. Noel, Ellen Flickinger, Sandra L. Pellas and Janet Noel, all of Altoona; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Paul Dixon, Ebensburg; and Harry Dixon, Colver. Betty retired from JoAnn Dress Factory, Ebensburg in 1975 after 15 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing bingo with friends and cake decorating. Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family. Friends and family will be received Friday, May 19, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10 a.m., Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Msgr. Stanley Carson celebrant. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
