Carol E. Dernar, 83, of Annville passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Richard "Dick" Dernar who passed away in 2021. At the time of his death, they had celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. Hagerich, Sr., and Irene E. (Vorhauer) Hagerich. Carol was a seamstress, and enjoyed building puzzles, playing card games like Five Crowns, BINGO, shopping and reading. Carol nourished her faith as a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Annville.
She is survived by six daughters Schelley Brandle (David) of Sunrise, FL, Judith Cates of Johnstown, Lee Ann Podgorney (Jim) of Annville, Patricia Stine of Chambersburg, Mary Brickels (Robert) of Wilmington, NC and Peggy Morcom (Paul) of Annville; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother Robert L. Hagerich (Irene) of Johnstown. Carol was preceded in death by three brothers Walter B. Hagerich, Jr., Kenneth D. Hagerich, Donald Meril Hagerich; and one son-in-law Ron Stine.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 125 S. Spruce St. Annville, PA 17003 or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110 in her memory.
