SWANEY - Carol Frances, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on March 19, 2025, at the age of 80, in Johnstown, PA, surrounded by family and friends. Born June 28, 1944, in Johnstown, daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Bulas) Pisarchik. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joseph "Picky," Edward, and Thomas Pisarchik; and sister, Jane Little. Survived by husband of 59 years, Walter "Chuck" Swaney; daughter, Monica (married to Daniel Christ); son, Charlie Swaney (married to Sara); daughter, Michelle (married to Joseph Metzgar); grandchildren, Emily (married to Collin Imler); Ethan Metzgar; Griffin Christ; Kaden Christ; and Luke Swaney; stepgrandchildren, Daniel Christ Jr., wife Ashley, and children, MyKenzie, Eli and Karson, and Beth Callihan, husband Eugene, and children, Ivy and Liam; and sisters, Frances Miller, Sally George and Monica Sukenik. Carol worked as a seamstress in her younger days and then devoted herself to caring for her family and assisting her husband with the auto body business they owned. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and enjoyed spending time with her family. Some of her favorite memories in her later years were trips to casinos with her sisters, daughters and grandchildren. "Mom, please keep watching over us and taking care of us. We hope you are looking down on us and can see us all as clear as a bright blue sky." Memorial donations can be made in Carol's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes, 146 Chandler Ave. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Clement Church, 114 Lindberg Ave. Carol will be interred at Grandview Cemetery.
