Daniel L. Biter
75, Loretto, died February 17, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 8, 1944 in Loretto, son of the late Alvin and Leona (Link) Biter. Preceded in death by son, James "Tut", infant sister, Mary, and brothers; Len, Ray, and Don. Survived by wife, the former Genevra "Genny" Rogers whom he married in church at Silver Spring, MD, children; Tony (Denise), Frank (Kim), Tim, Dawn (Dave) Smith, Shawn (Becky), and Eric (Kelly), 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Marie Hoover, Robert (Thelma), Lou (Connie), Roseann (Don) Farabaugh, Fred (Cindy), Gary (Maggie), and Debbie (Don) Weakland, and sister in law, Ruth Biter. Also survived by several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews, and father in law, Alan Ganey. Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, going to horse shows with his grandchildren, stock car races, and talking on his cell phone. He owned and operated the Dan Biter Construction Company, Loretto for over 50 years. Member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Stephen Kelley, Celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 3 until 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Friday.
