Johnstown, PA - ALWINE-PASSMORE - David Brian, 67, passed away on Aug. 12, 2025. Born May 6, 1958, to the late William and Madeline Louise (Johnston) Alwine. Preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Alwine; sisters, Barbara Karsaba and Pamela Alwine; brother-in-law, Michael Karsaba Sr.; and grandmother, Lena Alwine. Survived by loving husband, Joseph M. Passmore; daughter, Kayla Alwine (Paul); grandchildren, Kara Alwine, Rashaun Puryear Jr., Arieonna Alwine, Julius Puryear, Kaysen Puryear, and Zoey Alwine; great-grandson, Kamden Stephens; brother, William "Bill" Alwine (Doris); nieces, Megan and Ashley Alwine; nephews, Greg Alwine and Michael and Christopher Karsaba; and a host of great-nieces and nephews. David graduated with a degree in healthcare management from Penn Highlands Community College and an art degree from a school in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He enjoyed music, dancing, karaoke, gardening, shopping at QVC and HSN, watching cooking shows, and cooking delicious meals. David was creative, funny, and was always the life of the party. Above all else, David cherished his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by them. There will be a memorial service held at Calvary United Methodist Church, 159 Chandler Ave., on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at 11 a.m. There will be no viewing per David's request.
