Dean is survived by five sons and their spouses, Dean II and Judy, Ridgefield, Conn.; Bruce and Karen, Somerset, Pa.; Bryan and Debbie, Somerset, Pa.; Robert and Lori, Great Falls, Va.; Graham and Tammy, Berlin, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, Dean and wife Jillian Hottle, Jennifer and partner Richard Lipton, Anne and husband Timothy Cassidy, Danielle and husband Marc Englander, Megan, Heather and husband Michael Robbins, Bryan and wife Lauren Hottle, Ashley and husband Ryan Ellis, Erin and husband Patrick Ayers, Nichole and husband Gabe Kafity, Tara, Trisha and fiancé Matthew Gnagey; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Willard and wife Logan Hottle; sister, Norma and husband Jess Bacon; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Williams, Alice Lague, Mary and husband Ken Shatwell; brother-in law Albert and wife Diane Graham; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School, attended Brown University and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in accounting while raising five young boys. He was an accomplished CPA, a founding partner of Bulow Hottle and Company, CPAs and committed to the accounting profession his entire career. He was a long-time member and past president of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a council member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dean was a well-respected businessman in the local Somerset community; he was a long-time partner in several business ventures, establishing close friendships lasting over 60 years. Dean enjoyed working with his family and co-founded Eagle Concrete Products and Maryland Minerals with three of his sons. He dedicated many years serving as a board member of the Somerset Trust Company and as a past president and board member of the Somerset Historical Society. Dean was a family man, a devoted Christian with a kind and generous heart and an avid historian. One of his greatest joys was his family farm on Husband Road. Dean's own father instilled a love of farming in him from an early age, and Dean shared that love with his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Farming was one of his true passions, which included years he spent raising Limousine cattle. Dean had a deep enthusiasm for history, always having a book in hand, sharing stories of the past and enjoying the restoration of antique tractors. His love of maintaining history sparked his deep interest in serving the Somerset Historical Society. He was a lifetime member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren and Calvary Church of Somerset and believed in giving to others. He was committed to many organizations, including the Rotary Club, where he was a past president; Somerset Volunteer Fire Department; Somerset County Beef Producers; Meals on Wheels and the Masonic Temple. The Hottle family would like to thank Phyllis Leazier for her love, support and friendship in recent years and Linda Bassett for her many years of unwavering devotion and care to the family.
