New Florence, PA - 95, New Florence passed away peacefully at Barnes Place in Latrobe, on July 5, 2025. Born October 24, 1929, in West Wheatfield Township the daughter of the late James C. and Emma May (Liggett) Dick. Also preceded in death by husband Robert L. Gamble, brothers Col. James L. Dick and Dr. John M. Dick.

Survived by children Cindra Shearman and husband John, New Florence; Robert A. Gamble, New Florence; Lu Ann Hosek, Dyke, VA; Lindon D. Gamble and wife Mary, New Florence; Vernon Gamble and wife Phyllis, Winchester, VA; grandchildren Eric Gamble, Valerie Strohm, Lindon C. Gamble, Timothy Hosek, Nicole Englert and Stephen Gamble, Josh Shearman and Alicia Hastings, 10 great-grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Dorothy was a devoted member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was a Session member and Sunday School teacher. She was also a founding member of the New Florence Community Library and was part-owner of Bolivar Hardware. Dorothy was a retired home economics teacher. Most of all she was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished every moment she spent with her family.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 117 Chestnut Street, New Florence. Rev. Norman C. Kaufman officiating. Internment Bethel Cemetery.
