Dorothy J. Strittmatter
80, Patton, passed away November 2, 2019 unexpectedly at her home in Patton. She was born January 3,1939 in Spangler, the daughter of Lloyd and Catherine (Ott) Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J. Earl Strittmatter and son Eugene F. She is survived by children Wanda (Richard) Hnatkovich, Catherine (Samuel) Vescovi, William (Deborah McGlynn) Strittmatter, and Frederick (Cheryl Rieg) Strittmatter, all of Patton, grandchildren Brian (Stephanie Kibler) Hnatkovich, Jennifer (John) Eckenrod, Julie (Lee) Fitzpatrick, Anthony (Leah Parsons) Vescovi, Darren (Morgan Howard) Vescovi, Samuel T. Vescovi and special friend Mari Jadon, Eric (Katie Cence) Vescovi, Matthew Strittmatter, Joseph (Rachael Myers) Strittmatter, Christopher (Amanda Fetzer) Strittmatter, Scott Strittmatter, Rebecca Strittmatter, Ashley (Kendall) Rogal, Dustin Strittmatter and special friend Kayla Seid, ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, neighbors Pat and Marsha Sharbaugh and special friends Phillis Sherle and Joann and Ron Noonan. She was a Patton High School graduate and received an associate degree from Cambria Rowe Business College. Dorothy was the East Carroll tax collector for 19 years, financial secretary for Queen of Peace Catholic Church for 26 years and retired as owner and operator from D.J. Accounting after many years of service. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, ICBU and Patton American Legion Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home 1004 North Fifth Avenue Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional visitation will be held Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Carrolltown from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass, concelebrants Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB and Rev. Vincent Yeager. Committal St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Patton Fire Company and the Humane Society. (www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com)
