Dwight L. Yoder
Dwight L. Yoder, 85, of Somerset, passed on October 8, 2019. Born May 8, 1934 in Davidsville, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Florence (Hershberger) Yoder. He is also preceded in death by his wife Donna Yoder in 2017; son DuWayne Yoder; and stepson Dean Landis. Dwight is survived by his children Christine Davila (Rei) of Cary, NC, Dwight Yoder Jr. (Linda) of Johnstown, Tammy Yoder (Debbie) of Friedens, Greg Yoder (Lori) of Friedens, Rhonda Gaudlip (David) of Statesville, NC, Randy Yoder (Fernando) of Dallas, TX, and Brian Yoder (Barbara) of Somerset; step-children Patricia Landis-Shrum (Brian) of Virginia Beach, VA, Cindy Landis of Somerset, and Shaun Landis (Jennifer) of Norfolk, VA; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters Thelma Shaffer of Jerome, Joann Lepley of York, and Linda Weissner of Hollsopple. Dwight was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Forrestal. He was a retired electrician at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown. He was an avid antique collector and dealer, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Life Church in Windber. Friends will be received from 4-8 P.M. Saturday at MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET with a service to follow at 8 P.M., Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Military honors will be bestowed by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Interment will take place at Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Somerset Oncology Center at 314 S. Kimberly Avenue, Somerset, PA 15501.
