Johnstown, pa - GALIOTE - Fred Nofrio, 78, Johnstown, passed away November 29, 2025, at home. Born July 15, 1947, in Johnstown, son of Angelo and Rose (Taormina) Galiote. Preceded in death by parents, and son-in-law, Brian Onderick. Survived by wife of 55 years, Stephanie (Rayha); children, Brian (Jen Ashcom), Jenn Onderick, Lori Piro (Matthew) and Jason (Nichole Garbinski); grandchildren, Camden, Christopher, LuccaBella, Brayden, Decklan, Dominic, Ayla, Tyler and Amber; brother, John A. (Mary Katheryn); and many nieces and nephews. Active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he was a Lector for over 30 years. Also a member of Knights of Columbus. Proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, C130 Mechanic and Air Rescue, who served in Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Japan. Fred was a varsity girls soccer coach for over 20 years and was the first soccer coach to be inducted in the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat Soccer Hall of Fame. Retired after 20 years of owner Soccer City Outlet. He enjoyed having family dinners and spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that had a powerful personality and was loved by many. The family would like to thank the Johnstown Cardiovascular Associates for their extraordinary treatment over 32 years and Dr. Maliki, VA and DaVita. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
