Johnstown, PA - MOEHLER - George W., 77, Johnstown, passed away May 6, 2025. Born Oct. 12, 1947, in Johnstown to the late Russell W. and Edith N. (Smethurst). Also preceded in death by infant sister, Margie Ann; sister, Shirley A.; brother, Robert W.; aunt, Margaret; uncle, Chester Moehler. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Garetta (Paxton) Moehler. Also survived by daughter, Lori Ann Kichler, and fiancé Joseph Jacobs (Treyton & Tayleah); grandchildren, Jesse James Volocko (Olivia Phillips), and Savannah Moehler; great-granddaughter, Stella Nicole Volocko; brother in-law, Brooks Paxton (Diane); sister in-law, Margie Moehler; nephews, Sean, Scott (Paula), and Brooks Paxton II; nieces, Michelle Fry (Danny) and Melissa Meikrantz (Robert); and dear friends, Paul and Lori Ferbiak, Dickie George. George was a 1967 graduate of the Greater Johnstown High School, and he served in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He retired from Johnstown America after 34 years of service. He was also a member of the Woodvale Olympic Club, former member of the AC club, Amslo club, the Eagles, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown. George loved his family and friends, and his pet dog, Penny. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, fishing, drinking beer, dancing, and doing projects around the house. The family would like to give their sincere thanks to Richland Health Care and Asera Care Hospice for their excellent care and support during his final days. The family will have a time of gathering May 17 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at Hindman Funeral Homes at 1521 Frankstown Road.
