Fishertown, Pa - Gloria Pope, 91, of Fishertown, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at home.

She was born on April 4, 1932, in Boswell; daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine (Smith) Rice.

On December 31, 1953, she married Robert Pope, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2000.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Robin Pope; sisters, Sandy Walter, Betty Zablotny, Janet Craig; brother, John Rice.

She is survived by her children, Valerie and husband William Carthew of Fishertown; Paula Pope of State College; 3 grandchildren, Bryan (Katie) Carthew of Michigan, Christopher Carthew of Holsopple, Dr. Jennifer Carthew of Virginia; 4 great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Adelina, Isaiah & Samuel Carthew.

Gloria enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, crocheting, driving around Shawnee, and her cats. Most of all she loved to share her Love for the Lord with others and reading her Bible and journaling.

Friends and family will be received at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home on Monday, March 25 from 11 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating.

Interment at the Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
