Mendota Heights, MN - HUNTER-Grace Lurane (Rhodes), 99, Mendota Heights, MN, formerly of Johnstown, died June 30, 2025 in MN. Born January 14, 1926 in Johnstown. Daughter of Waldo Emerson and Sarah Grace (Davis) Rhodes. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Walter Lee; siblings, Alice Mosholder, Alvin Rhodes, Melvin Rhodes, Faye Vorhauer, Forrest Rhodes and Calvin Rhodes. Survived by children, Bonnie Hunter, David Hunter and wife Cyndy, Mary and husband Brian Gette, and Grace Dailey and husband Kris McIntire; sibling Garnet Croyle. Lurane received nurses training at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Nursing from Metropolitan State, MN and a Masters Degree from St. Mary's, MN. She had a lifelong career in nursing, having worked at Elizabethtown College and Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in PA, St. Michael's and West Bend Hospitals in WI and Hennepin County Medical Center in MN, where she retired as the Operating Room Director. Lurane was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, MN where she was very active for many years. She also was an active volunteer in the community throughout her lifetime. Lurane was a wonderful wife and mother and an extremely caring and giving person. She also loved her flowers and spent many enjoyable hours in her gardens.Viewing from 10am until time of service 11am Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell with Pastor Allen Stump presiding.
