Johnstown, PA - Lehman - Harry A. Jr., a cheerful, kind, intelligent, and deeply honest man, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. Raised in the Christian faith through the Church of the Brethren, Harry lived a life rooted in devotion, humility, and quiet strength. He carried those values into his home and lovingly raised his sons in the same spirit. Harry proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Force, a chapter of his life marked by duty and honor. Following his service, he built a long and meaningful career with Sears, where he worked for 37 years and formed lasting friendships. Known for his love of people and his ability to see the best in everyone, Harry was a man who truly never had a bad thought about anyone. He found joy in simple pleasures and good company — whether bowling with the Richland Rowlers and the Westmont Senior League, or sharing laughs and stories with his beloved "drinking buddies" at the local McDonald's, where friendship and conversation were always on the menu. He was, as his son Harry often said, a true "Gentleman's Gentleman." His son Tim fondly remembers him as a devoted father who never missed a single baseball game, swim meet, or track meet, always present and proud. Harry is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Ruth Vera Lehman, who tenderly cared for him with love and faithfulness. He is also survived by his sons, Dr. Harry A. Lehman III (Maria), of Fenwick Island, Delaware, and Timothy Bryan Lehman (Jennifer), of Greenville, South Carolina. He was affectionately known as "Pap" to his five beloved grandchildren: H.A., (wife Jessica), Robert, Brandon, Crew, and Cooper Lehman, and great-grandchildren, Vivian and Alice. A private service will be held at a later date. In remembrance of Harry, the family invites friends and loved ones to honor his life by simply being kind to one another — the way Harry lived every day. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
