Johnstown, PA - "Jim," 83, of Johnstown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 2, 1943, son of Herbert J. Sr. and Ruth (Ribblett) Britton. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean (Noel) Britton; sons, Jim (Chris), Rich (Becky), and Gerry (Dawn); grandchildren, Sherri (Dan Pollino), Jimmy (Brittany Cramer), Sammi (Dale Gray) and Taylor (Bryant Roles); great-grandsons, Jakob Pollino and Dale (DJ) Gray; sister, Janet Hagerich (Dave); special nephews, Randy, and Mark Hagerich. He was a graduate of Johnstown. He Retired from Bethlehem Steel. Jim was an avid dirt track and NASCAR race fan. He was an engine builder for 3 different dirt cars, which won multiple championships, driven by sons, Rich and Jim, and nephew, Randy Hagerich. He was also a driver himself on Jennerstown Speedway dirt track. Jim also enjoyed spending time at his cottage fishing at Pymatuning Lake. At the request of the family, there will be no service. A private family graveside service will be held at Headrick Cemetery. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
