Meadview, Arizona - DIVELY - Jack Elvin, 76, formerly of Johnstown Pa., passed away on March 3 2025, while living near the Grand Canyon in Meadview, AZ. Born on Feb. 4, 1949, in Claysburg Pa., he was the son of the late Elvin A. Dively "IKE" and Edith (Claar) Dively. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna, as well as his siblings, Ross Dively, Beverly Klepic, John Dively and Bill Dively. He is survived by his children, Doug and Mindi Dively and Lorie Dively and Ivan Puryear Sr.; grandchildren, Ashley Dively, Ivan Puryear Jr., Alex, and Chelsea Dively; and great-granddaughter, Aria Barfield; He is also survived by his brother, Morgan Dively; sisters, Nancy Johnson; Helen Rickabaugh; Doris Long, wife of Dwayne; and Debbie Martz, wife of Robert; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jack proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines and also with the National Guard. A skilled machinist, he worked at Bethlehem Steel, and later applied his craftsmanship to building hickory furniture. He was his happiest being outdoors - fishing , hunting, trapping, or panning for gold any chance he could get. If there was a boat nearby, Jack was on it with a rod in one hand, and a cold beer in the the other hand, and country music playing. His favorite pastime was watching cowboy westerns and shows like "GunSmoke" or any show that celebrated the great outdoors. Jack lived with strength and deep devotion to those he loved . His ingenious mind, and love for his family, and steadfast nature left a mark on everyone who knew him. His is deeply loved and missed, and will always live on in the laughs and lessons he passed on. He was returned to Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa., and was laid to rest beside his wife, Donna who is also sadly missed.
