A devoted life member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Windber, Janice's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She began her career working at the Department of Agriculture (REA) in Washington, D.C., after graduating from high school in 1961. In the late 1980s, she transitioned to Windber Elementary School, where she was a beloved secretary until her retirement in 2006. Janice formed enduring friendships that spanned decades, and she found great joy and solace in reading the church's bulletin. Known for her warmth and welcoming smile, Janice missed her Ed dearly after their 53 years of marriage. Her life's motto was simply, "I'm sorry," reflecting her kindness and thoughtfulness toward others. Janice will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 6th, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. conducted by Father Rod at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home in Windber. Entombment will follow at Richland Mausoleum, where family and friends will share cherished memories of Janice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in honor of Janice. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will not be forgotten.
