Johnstown, PA - OSTER - Jeffrey Michael, 68, of Johnstown, passed away on July 26, 2025. Born on May 22, 1957, in Johnstown, to Walter and Isabel Oster. Jeff was a spirited and adventurous soul from the very beginning. He attended Bishop McCort and North Star high schools before pursuing a degree in forestry at the University of Arizona. After college, he began a fulfilling career in sales with Marker Ski Bindings - a role that combined his love for skiing with the thrill of travel. His work took him across the United States and into parts of Europe, allowing him to explore the world while doing what he loved. Eventually returning to Pennsylvania, Jeff continued a successful career in sales until his retirement in 2020. Retirement brought him immense joy and freedom, and he embraced it fully by traveling extensively. Some of his favorite destinations included Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming. Jeff was always eager to snap a photo and capture the beauty of the natural landscapes that inspired him. Jeff had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and led a life enriched by many passions. He was an avid fly fisherman, talented guitar player, dedicated skier, and basketball player. He also had a love for dogs, music, chapstick, grilling, and especially cooking large batches of his famous soups. With an infectious personality and genuine warmth, Jeff had a remarkable ability to connect with people. He never met a stranger - always quick to offer a smile, start a conversation, and make a friend. To those who knew him, he was a source of laughter, encouragement, and endless positivity. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Walter Oster. Jeff's memory will live on in the hearts of his daughter, Jessica (Detroit, MI); brother, Charles (Johnstown); nephew, Charles Jr. (Johnstown); niece, Melissa; and a wide circle of cherished friends. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Special Olympics Winter Games at Seven Springs.
