Gremillion, JoAnn E. (Kuzak), 83, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Cresson and Gaithersburg, MD, passed away February 24, 2024, at UPMC Altoona. Born February 23, 1941, Johnstown, daughter of the late Louis J. and Stella C. (Pisczek) Kuzak. Survived by her two loving daughters, Kara Gremillion (Donald Collie) and Simone Gremillion; niece, Valerie Kuzak; her dear friend, Melvin Fees; and many other extended family members. Preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Kuzak. JoAnn attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving Bachelor's and Master's degrees in French, Spanish and Russian. She was also fluent in Polish. She served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant, working at the Defense Language Institute in Washington, D.C. during the Vietnam Conflict. She taught Spanish and French in Maryland and Pennsylvania public and private schools for many years. JoAnn was extremely proud of her Polish heritage, participating in numerous cultural events. She also valued her Catholic faith. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling, and always had a new craft project underway. She also loved the arts and theater. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her two daughters and her friends. Friends and family will be received for a Celebration of Life Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson, Pastor Alice Tondora, officiant. Military honors will be provided by the Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW and other local military organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Garvey Manor Nursing Home, 1037 S. Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
