ADAMS -John J., 86, Twin Rocks, went home to heaven on March 20, 2025, at St Andrews Village. He was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Twin Rocks, son of the late John C. Adams and Dorothy W. (Gardner) Adams. Proceeded in death by wife, Linda L, (Ott) Adams; sister, Shirley Clifford; brother, David Adams; and brother-in-law, Ed Ott. John is survived by daughter, Tammy (Mike) Cusick; son, Keith Adams, daughter, Danielle Williamson; grandchildren, Eric Cusick, Kelly Cusick, Emily Williamson, Jessica Williamson, Aubrey Williamson, and Shannon Williamson (or as John called her his "special baby"- if you know about Shannon you know why he called her this); sisters-in-law, Florence Adams and Janice Ott; brother-in-law, Dennis (Rose) Ott; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. John, a U.S. Army veteran, enjoyed going to Sight and Sound, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins (go PENS!), working with his hands (he made several decorations and lawn ornaments), jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, working in the yard and the garden, watching his grandchildren playing sports, and was a lover of all animals. John also enjoyed helping his family and friends and would often visit people who were in the hospital or a nursing home. John was a long-standing member of Pike Grace Brethren Church, where he had been involved with several committees, was a greeter, usher, trustee, taught Sunday school, worked with the youth group, helped with fellowship and funeral meals, and helped with VBS. John was also involved with Cambria County Christian School, Camp Mantowagan, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. 2025 marked his 27th year as a volunteer with the VITA/TCE Tax Preparers. Even though he did not finish this tax year, he was able to help three of his clients. Thanks to Monica Hildebrand, with help from Bev Phillip and Barb Wallet, for taking on John's clients this year. The family wishes to thank the staff of Indiana Regional Medical Center and the staff of St. Andrew's Village. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m., Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment to follow in Pike Grace Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive Ext., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or Child Evangelism Fellowship of Cambria County, P.O. Box 5597, Johnstown, Pa.15904-5597, or Camp Mantowagan, P.O. Box 95, Saxton, Pa. 16678. Military services will be held by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale Ritual Team.
