John J Barchak Obituary

"Jack" Jr., 78, Duncansville, passed away Wednesday, at the Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. He was born in Johnstown, son of the late John J. and Anna (Kenjesky) Barchak. On June 25th, 1960, he married Doris C. Casey in Johnstown, she preceded him in death on February 13, 2016. Surviving are; a son: Ed Barchak (Dana) of Collierville, TN and a daughter: Janeen Nebelski (Ray) of Altoona; a brother: Joseph Barchak of Harrisburg and a sister: Barbara Rodgers of Johnstown; three grandchildren: Anna and Sara Barchak and Breana Walter.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Barchak, and five sisters: Phyllis, Patricia, Betty, Bonny and Delores. John was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown. He was a member of the U.S. Army where he had served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He retired from PennDot District 9 office in Hollidaysburg as a professional engineer with 40 years of service. He enjoyed Lionel Model Trains and classical music. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc. 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
