ITELL - John Warren. Mr. John W. Itell, 84, Waynesboro, PA, died March 8, 2016. Born April 10, 1931, in Portage, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Coletta Willebran) Itell. Mr. Itell graduated from Portage High School with the class of 1949. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War, a recipient of both the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He and his wife, Rita M. (Rainey), were married on February 14, 1953, in Colver, PA. They have lived in Waynesboro for over 35 years. John was a retired machinist from Mach Truck. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, John P. Itell, Linda K. Thomas, Deborah J. Eichelberger, and Cathy A. Leary; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Peg Stacey of Pontiac, MI; one brother, Bill Itell of Valparaiso, IN; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 19, 2016.
