Johnstown, PA - 93, Johnstown, passed away on July 4, 2025. Born March 24, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, son of the late Jacob and Catherine (Jama) Kotch. Preceded in death by brother Jacob, sisters Catherine (John) Humphreys, Audrey (John) Evanchick, Mary Wychock, Dolores (Robert) Kane. Survived by wife of 65 years, the former Rainelda Harchick, children John (Jessica) of Marathon, FL, James of Johnstown, and Tamarra (Ronald) Ball of Pasadena MD, grandchildren Brandon, Ryan, and Mikayla Ball, Casen, Capri, and Vivi Kotch, and brother-in-law Carl Wychock. John was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and a graduate of Penn State. He retired as General Foreman from Bethlehem Steel Wheel and Axle Plant, also worked at Johnstown Corporation, Lockheed Aeroparts, and Flood City Brass. John enjoyed annual family vacations, ocean fishing, wood turning, and metal machining on his lathe. He also enjoyed attending all the baseball, football, basketball, cheerleading, softball, volleyball and dance recitals his children and grandchildren participated in. Friends received from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155, VFW. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
