John J. Laura Obituary
John J. Laura, 89, of Altoona passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Guiseppe and Ida (Polito) Laura. He married Julia Giosa.
He is survived by his loving wife. A daughter: Joni Laura of California; A son: Joseph Laura (Dianne)of Michigan; Three grandchildren: Jay, Kami, and Bayleigh; a sister Catherine Paone (Anthony) of Johnstown and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Judyth Mielnik
John served in the US Army as a Technician 5th Grade during WWII. He was Co-Owner of LaJo Italian Market for over 50 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Friends will be recevied from 9 am to 10:30 am Monday, December 26, 2016 in the Santella Funeral Home 1106-8th Avenue Altoona, Pa 16602. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church followed by full military honors. Committal at Calvary Mausoleum, Altoona.
