LINK - James W., 83, of New Germany, and a resident of Richland Healthcare & Rehabilitation, passed away on Aug. 6, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 20, 1942, in Patton, the son of the late Wilfred and Alice (Nagle) Link. He was preceded death by his brothers, Clyde, Gerald and Harold Link, and son-in-law, Chad Lewis. Survived by wife, the former Ruth (Wyland) McCall; children: Thomas (Marsha) McCall; Kathy Revesz; and Erin Lewis; grandchildren: Joey, Dylan, Kayla, Brent, Shelly, Stacey, Megan, Skylar and Gavin; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings, Mary Louis Little, Ray (Patty) Link, Clete Link, Janet (Bill) Holley, and Alma (Randy) Dotts. Jim was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in New Germany, where he had been active as a church volunteer for festivals and fish fries. He enjoyed carpentry, was always willing to assist at a neighbor's farm and had a passion for collecting and showing his award-winning John Deere tractor collection. A proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the recipient of multiple military awards and achieved three bronze stars. He retired as an electrician for FirstEnergy. Jim will be long remembered for his easy-going personality and his welcoming smile. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 12, at Immaculate Conception Church, New Germany Road, the Rev. Father Joseph Nale, celebrant. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Organization or to your favorite veteran's charity. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
