South Fork, PA - Silk - John "Jack," 85, of South Fork, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Born on July 4, 1941, he celebrated every Independence Day as his birthday, and on his 85th birthday, July 4, 2026, he peacefully departed this life surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Elvira (Steib) and John L. Silk.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Sally Ann (Glessner) Silk; his loving children, Lynn Delic (T.J.), Lori Cover (Jim), and Michael Silk (Lisa); six cherished grandchildren, Erika Strittmatter (Alex), Andrea Billings (Sean), Jessica Foltz (James), JT Delic (Jenna), Julia Delic (fiancé Kory Tomasic), and Jacob Delic (fiancée Sarah Fetterman); his brother, David; two step-grandchildren Alyssa Rockwell (Julia) and John Giffin (Jolynn) and nine adored great-grandchildren, Peyton, Micah, and Maggie Strittmatter; Isla and Elsie Billings; Hallie and Reagan Foltz; and Macie and Jack Delic.

A 1960 graduate of Richland High School, Jack went on to graduate from Cambria-Rowe Business College. He built a respected career in banking that spanned more than 40 years, serving the Johnstown community. Jack also worked at several car dealerships selling cars and working in their financial and insurance departments. He also sold in real estate.

Outside of work, Jack devoted countless hours to the Johnstown Volleyball Club as both a coach and mentor. Volleyball was far more than a game to him; it was a passion that he eagerly shared with others. He instilled that same love of the sport in each of his three children, creating a family legacy that extended well beyond the court.

Jack never met a stranger. He loved the Steelers, golfing, boxer dogs and Volkswagen cars. His kindness was endless, and his ability to see the good in people was truly remarkable. He had an uncanny gift for asking thoughtful questions that made everyone feel valued. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or had just met him, Jack had a way of making you feel like an old friend.

His greatest joy, however, was always his family and being "Pop." Nothing made him happier than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He treasured every gathering, every conversation, and every opportunity to create memories together.

Although his family grieves the loss of an extraordinary husband, father, Pop and friend, they find comfort in knowing that Jack's legacy will live on through the generations that follow. His unwavering kindness, and the countless stories shared around family tables for years to come will ensure that his spirit remains close to all who loved him.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Geistown. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 1 p.m.
